I’ve been meaning to start up a blog for a while now. Months is an underestimate. I’ve been bogged down on where to start, and then when I would decide “today is the day” I would realize there is a lot of decisions going into starting a blog if you want it to be just right.
I missed talking about the Clara Cummings walk this year, and planting all the containers on the porch, and my vacation to NY. So, it is time to start before I just keep missing things. (Just right will happen eventually.)
Yesterday I ventured to Windsor Button across the river to pick up a Berroco pattern book I knew they had (thanks sweetie!). It is time to make my first sweater, and a nice summer one in cotton seems to be the answer. What a trip! I was helped by someone who really knew all the yarn stock and was super helpful! We wandered around looking cotton yarn that should knit up at the right gague for my knitting for the project. After picking King Tut she grabbed me all fresh hanks from the back. She also helped me with bulky cotton yarn for a super simple shrug I have planned (Arucania Nature Cotton). The owner also offered me some help at one point, including a basket, and I accused him (jokingly) of trying to get me to add MORE yarn to my arms! With my finds and some Manos Wool Clasica added for good measure I headed to the register. In the process of paying for my new friends (quickly so I would not look at anything else) I started talking to a woman who needed buttons for the simple blue baby sweater she had knit. I probably spent 15 minuted helping her pick buttons that would work and the zeebra’s she picked were great!
After yesterday’s exciteent today will be spent on the porch or possibly in a favorite cafe since my gague was perfect and I can star my sleveless Athos project and still have time to fit in a bike ride.
